Job Opening for Testing Senior Engineer
at Ciena India Private Ltd. in Delhi, Delhi/NCR, Gurgaon
Job Description
1. Responsible for systems level testing of optical transport, Ethernet switching platforms, storage area network platforms, and the associated Network Management systems.
2. The position includes working with product development, manufacturing, and customer certification engineering testing groups.
3. Requirements include Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Communications with 3+ years of experience in production and systems test roles.
4. Develop and execute test cases in the following areas: SONET/SDH, OTN, DWDM, Fiber Channel, Ethernet, performance management, fault management, and associated EMS/NMS.
5. Consults with hardware and software engineering staff to identify and document functional interfaces and requirements to perform operational and performance testing at the module and overall system levels.
6. Confers with hardware and software engineering personnel to resolve problems related to specifications and associated test plans/procedures.
7. Formulates, designs, and codes automated software test systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design where applicable.
8. Work with customer certification test group on all levels of testing: component level testing, module level testing, system level testing, network level testing.
9. Analyze test results and prepare test reports.
Desired Profile
1. Technical skills a must, inter-personal skills equally important. Independent self starter and committed to delivering on aggressive deadlines.
2. Comfortable in a team environment with ability to work with little supervision.
3. Must have ability to understand customer’s perspective. Strong commitment to product excellence.
4. Previous test and development experience with any two: UNIX/Linux/Windows NT, TCL/TK/Expect. Knowledge in SILK and LabVIEW are a plus.
5. Knowledge of Fiber Channel, SAN device and storage equipment would be an advantage.
6. Background in systems design is a plus.
7. Proficient with a wide range of SONET/SDH, OTN, Ethernet and Fiber Channel test equipment.
8. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Optical Communications or relevant work experience.
9. 3+ years of experience in production and systems test.
